Authorities are appealing to the public for assistance in tracing two men following an assault that occurred after a car crash. The incident took place on Oakdale Road in Bakersfield when a motorcyclist collided with a parked black Audi Q5, causing the motorcyclist to fall onto the road. Fortunately, the motorcyclist sustained only minor injuries.
As the Audi driver exited his vehicle to check on the motorcyclist’s well-being, a Peugeot pulled up near the crash scene. It appeared that the two men inside the Peugeot were acquainted with the motorcyclist, as they promptly assisted him in getting back on his bike. However, before the driver details could be exchanged, the motorcyclist left the scene aboard his bike, accompanied by the two men in the Peugeot.
The situation escalated when the Audi driver started taking pictures of the incident using his phone, which angered the two men from the Peugeot. They demanded that the driver delete the photos, but when he refused, they physically assaulted him, punching him to the ground and throwing his phone against a nearby wall. Following the assault, the two men quickly reentered the Peugeot and drove away from the scene.
The incident occurred on August 17 at approximately 18.40 BST. Inspector Steve Dalby of Nottinghamshire Police expressed concern for the victim, highlighting the severity of the incident and the need to find those responsible. Authorities have released images of the two men believed to have crucial information regarding the assault and are urging anyone who recognises them to come forward.
Inspector Dalby emphasised the importance of the public’s assistance in their investigation. Any information regarding the identities of the two men should be reported to the police by calling 101 and quoting crime number 23*515317. Alternatively, individuals can choose to provide anonymous information by contacting Crimestoppers at 0800 555 111.
