In a developing Brighton rape investigation, Sussex Police have released surveillance images of two individuals sought in connection with a serious sexual assault of a 19-year-old male in the city centre
Details of the Incident
The attack took place near Harry Ramsdens in Old Steine around 3:30 AM on Saturday, December 21. The male victim reported being approached by two unknown men who subsequently took him to Steine Lane where the assault occurred.
Police Response and Victim Support
Detective Inspector Sean Booth, leading the Brighton rape investigation, stated: “This is a deeply concerning incident, and we are supporting the victim as our enquiries continue.”
The victim managed to seek assistance from a passing pedestrian who alerted authorities. Specially trained officers are currently providing support to the victim while the investigation progresses.
Appeal for Witnesses
DI Booth stressed: “Steine Lane is frequently used as a cut-through route connecting East Street to Old Steine, with considerable foot traffic both day and night. We know several people were in the vicinity when the attack occurred.”
