Police have launched an investigation following a serious two-car collision on Redcliffe Gardens, SW10, in the early hours of Sunday morning.
The incident, which occurred at approximately 1:35am, is being described as life-threatening or life-changing in nature, according to early emergency services reports. Emergency crews were dispatched to the scene, where they found two vehicles involved in a serious road traffic collision (RTC) near the junction with Redcliffe Square.
Road Closures and Bus Diversions in Place
As a result of the crash, Redcliffe Gardens has been partially closed, causing significant disruption to traffic in the area. A number of London bus routes have been diverted to avoid the scene of the incident.
Transport for London (TfL) confirmed the following route diversions:

Route 328 and C3 (Southbound): Diverted via Old Brompton Road, Onslow Place, Fulham Road, and Edith Grove before resuming normal route.

Night Route N31 (towards Clapham Junction): Diverted similarly via Old Brompton Road, Onslow Place, Fulham Road, and Edith Grove.
Commuters are advised to allow extra journey time and check live travel updates before travelling through the Chelsea and Earl’s Court areas.
Police Appeal for Witnesses
The Metropolitan Police has yet to release further details about the people involved or their current conditions, but confirmed that forensic collision investigators remain at the scene.
A Police Source said:
“We are currently investigating a serious collision on Redcliffe Gardens. Officers are working to establish the full circumstances of the incident. Anyone who witnessed the collision or who may have dashcam footage from the area around 1:30am is urged to come forward.”
Ongoing Disruption
As of 4:03am, emergency services were still present at the scene, and road closures remained in effect. The public is urged to avoid the area where possible and to follow official TfL channels for updates on route changes.
