In a significant operation conducted by Greater Manchester Police’s Operation Tahara, four individuals were arrested this morning (Friday, October 6, 2023) following the execution of a warrant at an address on Staycott Street, Moss Side. The operation, aimed at preventing and reducing crime in hotspot locations, yielded crucial results.
Upon gaining entry to the address, officers discovered a drone and drugs believed to be intended for delivery to a prison. Two men, aged 18 and 33, were arrested alongside two women, aged 20 and 39, on suspicion of drugs offences. They are currently in police custody, where they will face questioning.
Operation Tahara focuses on deploying resources to tackle crime in South Manchester and Trafford. In addition to traditional police powers such as stop and search, seizure of illegal items, and suspect arrests, the officers prioritise engaging with the community. The operation aims to divert young people away from anti-social behavior and crime through referrals to specialised partner agencies and services, offering positive opportunities for personal development.
