Residents of a quiet Kent village have been left buzzing with speculation after a heavy police presence descended on a property on Ricketts Hill Road on the outskirts of Biggin Hill.
Officers from Surrey Police, including specialist crime scene investigators and fire crews, have maintained a continuous presence at the scene for well over a week, prompting a whirlwind of rumors among locals.
A striking addition to the site is a blue portaloo, which has been dropped at the scene, indicating that officers are likely preparing for a prolonged investigation. Neighbours have described seeing officers dressed in biohazard suits, heightening speculation about the nature of the incident.
Among the theories circulating through the village, some residents believe that a weed factory may have been discovered within the property, while others have suggested the possibility of a bomb factory. Despite the ongoing gossip, authorities have yet to confirm the reason for the lockdown.
“We’ve seen officers coming and going, some in what looked like bio suits. It’s all a bit unsettling,” said one local resident who preferred to remain anonymous. “No one really knows what’s going on, but it’s hard not to speculate when there’s so much activity.”
Officers at the scene remained tight-lipped about the situation. Both the Metropolitan Police and Kent Police and Surrey Police have been contacted for statements, but no official updates have been provided at this time. The area remains cordoned off, with officers maintaining a strict presence around the property.
This sudden and mysterious operation has left the small community on edge, with many eagerly awaiting answers to put the rumors to rest. As the investigation continues, locals remain curious and cautious, wary of what may yet unfold in their usually peaceful neighborhood.
A spokesman for Surrey Police Said:
Police conducted a warrant at an address in Tatsfield on Wednesday, 26 March, relating to reports of drug supply at the location. Two arrests have been made and enquiries at the location are ongoing.
