Police have launched a murder investigation after a man died following a one-punch attack on Lewisham High Street by a bus stop on Saturday 1st March 2025.
Despite rapid emergency response, including police officers running from Lewisham Police Station with first aid kits and defibrillators, the victim later died in hospital.

Police Investigation
The Metropolitan Police Major Crime Team is leading the investigation.
A Met Police source confirmed:
“An investigation is underway following an assault on Lewisham High Street. Officers remain at the scene, and one person has been arrested in connection with the incident. We urge anyone with information to come forward.”
Emergency Response
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said:
“We were called at 8:37 PM to reports of an incident on Lewisham High Street, SE13. We sent resources to the scene, including ambulance crews, an incident response officer, an advanced paramedic, and members of our joint response unit. We also dispatched a trauma team in a car from London’s Air Ambulance. We treated a man at the scene before taking him to a hospital.”
Road Closures & Travel Disruptions
The southbound section of Lewisham High Street is closed between Lee Bridge and Molesworth Street due to the investigation.
