In a recent incident in Gateshead, Northumbria Police are appealing for information after a taxi driver reported being threatened with a knife by two passengers on Friday at around 17.00 BST.
The incident unfolded when two men entered a taxi outside Morrisons in Blaydon and requested to be taken to Hyde Park Street in Bensham. However, upon reaching their destination, the passengers allegedly refused to pay and instead threatened the driver with a knife before making a swift escape. Fortunately, the driver emerged physically unharmed but visibly shaken.
An ongoing investigation is in progress, involving various inquiries, including a comprehensive review of CCTV footage. In a bid to trace the individuals responsible, Northumbria Police has issued a public appeal for information.
Images of two men, believed to have been in the vicinity at the time of the incident, have been released in the hope that they may possess information crucial to the investigation.
