A suspected drink driver who fled the scene of a crash in Swale was tracked down and arrested — thanks to the impressive skills of Police Dog Kit.
Kent Police were called at around 7.22pm on Sunday, 4 May 2025, to reports of a collision involving a motorbike and two cars on Playstool Road in Newington.
Officers attended the scene and confirmed that no serious injuries were reported. However, a man believed to have been riding the motorcycle fled the area on foot.
An off-duty officer who happened to be nearby immediately gave chase. Police Dog Kit and his handler then tracked the suspect to a nearby location, where he was successfully detained.
During a search, cannabis and drug-related items were also recovered.
