Despite the efforts of medics, Mehran was pronounced dead at the scene. At this early stage, detectives believe that Mehran was injured in an altercation at The Avenue, just 100 metres from the railway station where the Mini he was driving crashed. His next of kin have been informed and the investigation is being led by homicide detectives from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command. A post-mortem examination held at Fulham Mortuary on Sunday, 24 November, found the cause of death to be a single stab wound to the heart. There have been no arrests. Detective Chief Inspector Neil John said: "Another young life ended, another family devastated. If you have information that could help us in removing dangerous individuals from your community please call. "If you are worried about calling police, call anonymously through Crimestoppers – they are not part of the police and they will not even ask for your name. Your call could prevent another family living with the heart-wrenching pain of losing a loved one to murder. "The location of the incident is a busy, heavy footfall area where people were out to eat and shop. If you were in the area you may have seen something, or perhaps you took pictures or video around the time of the incident – was there anything suspicious going on in the background? If you have any information, no matter how small, please do get in touch." Anyone witnesses or anyone who has information is asked to call police on 101 quoting CAD550/24November,
