Police Close Road After 14 Year old Child Seriously Injured in Road Smash Near Wickham
Police have closed the A32 in both directions following a serious collision near Wickham. Traffic is being asked to avoid the area whilst officers deal with the incident involving a number of vehicles on the accident blackspot know locally as “car crash alley” Emergency services who were called to the scene just after 7.30pm this evening are trying to free a family trapped in one of the three vehicles Involved. The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air ambulance has also been called in to assist. Two Fire Crews from Fareham are using cutting equipment to remove the roof of the vehicle. South Central Ambulance have sent a Hazardous area response team to the incident The rescue efforts are being hampered by the rain A spokesman for Hampshire and Isle of Wight Road Police said” A 14-year-old boy has suffered serious injuries as a result of the crash. One person has been taken away by land ambulance to the Southampton General Hospitial A second person has been taken away by land ambulance with what are described as serious injuries. A spokesperson for South Central Ambulance Service said: “Police called us 7.31pm to a three vehicle collision and two patients, one a 14-year-old boy and the other an adult female.
