The Sussex Police have made a significant breakthrough in a disturbing case involving multiple sexual offences against children in Crowborough. A man has been charged in connection with the alleged crimes, which involved a boy and a girl both under the age of six.
The incidents are said to have occurred between September 2021 and January, 2022, with reports of sexual assault by penetration and touching coming to light. In response to these troubling reports, the police launched an investigation to ascertain the facts and gather evidence.
During the course of the investigation, the victims and their families have been provided with the necessary support and guidance by specialist officers. This is a critical step in helping them navigate through the emotional and psychological impact of such traumatic experiences.
Andrew Evans, aged 38 and with no fixed address, was charged by the Sussex Police with multiple sexual offences against children. These charges include sexual assault by penetration on the boy, sexual assault by touching on the girl, and two counts of sexual assault by penetration.
Evans is set to appear before Crawley Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 8 July, where the charges against him will be addressed. The legal proceedings will provide a comprehensive review of the evidence and testimonies gathered during the investigation.
The Sussex Police are urging anyone with information related to this case or any other incidents of sexual offences to come forward and report them.
