Authorities are urgently seeking witnesses and dashcam footage following a serious road traffic collision in Kenworthy Road, E9, which left a cyclist in his 20s in critical condition. The incident occurred at approximately 19:40 BST on Sunday, September 10, prompting a swift response from Police.
Officers from the Hackney police were dispatched to the scene after receiving reports of a cyclist injured in the collision. The young man was swiftly transported to a hospital for urgent medical treatment, and he currently remains in a critical condition. His next of kin have been notified of the incident.
The collision unfolded when the cyclist, a man in his 20s, was struck by a car, which subsequently collided with another vehicle. The driver of the car, a 24-year-old woman, was taken into custody on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm (GBH) through dangerous driving. She is currently in police custody while the investigation progresses.
As a result of the incident, road closures were put in place to allow authorities to manage the situation effectively. However, these road closures have since been lifted, and traffic is returning to normal in the area.
