Police in York are appealing for witnesses and information following a robbery at a Costcutter store in Woodthorpe on Saturday evening, September 7. The incident occurred at approximately 7:25 PM at the store located on Wains Grove.
According to reports, a male suspect entered the store and threatened staff before taking £130 in cash from the till and fleeing the scene.
Authorities have released CCTV images of a man who they believe may have crucial information about the robbery. Police are urging anyone who recognizes the individual in the images to come forward.
A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Police said: “This incident has caused distress for the staff in the store and a full investigation is underway. If you were near Wains Road on Saturday and saw anything or anyone suspicious, please let us know. Similarly, if you have any CCTV or doorbell footage from that area, please review it and come forward if you saw anything.
Police are particularly interested in hearing from anyone who was in the vicinity of Wains Grove at the time of the incident or who may have witnessed suspicious activity. Residents and businesses in the area are also being asked to check their security cameras for any relevant footage.
