Police are currently on the lookout for the driver responsible for a suspected hit-and-run that resulted in injuries and hospitalization for one person. The incident occurred on the A2990 Old Thanet Way near Herne Bay, at the red light crossing near the roundabout joining Greenhill Bridge Road close to Lidl.
The collision involved a silver Citroen and an unidentified small silver van. After the incident, which took place shortly after 4 p.m. on Friday, May 10, the van fled the scene heading toward Chestfield on the A2990.
Authorities and paramedics responded to the emergency call, and one of the involved individuals was promptly taken to the hospital for medical treatment. The current condition of the injured party has not yet been disclosed.
Kent Police are urging anyone who may have witnessed the collision or has relevant dashcam footage to come forward to assist in locating the fleeing driver. A police spokesperson emphasized the importance of public assistance, stating, “Inquiries to locate the driver of the second vehicle are ongoing, and police are appealing to witnesses, or anyone with relevant dashcam footage, to come forward.”
