Detectives are urging witnesses to step forward following a violent assault near the River Thames at Vauxhall. The incident occurred on Albert Embankment, south side of the river near Vauxhall Bridge, prompting a swift response from the police and London Ambulance Service.
Authorities were alerted shortly before 04:15 on Sunday, 1 October, regarding an assault involving a metal pole. Upon arrival, officers discovered a 24-year-old man with a head injury. He was promptly transported to the hospital, where his condition is deemed life-threatening.
Two suspects, a 23-year-old man and a 22-year-old man, were apprehended in the vicinity on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm. Both individuals are currently in police custody.
Detectives from the Metropolitan Police’s South Central BCU are leading the investigation. CCTV footage from the location reveals the presence of several individuals in the area at the time of the incident. Authorities are urging anyone who witnessed the assault but has not yet come forward to contact the police at 101, quoting CAD 1204/01Oct.
