Detectives are renewing their appeal for information following the tragic murder of Gregory Castillo Volquez in Haringey earlier this year.
Gregory, 36, was fatally stabbed in a brutal attack in an alleyway on Tiverton Road at 4:55am on Monday, 13 January. Despite two men being charged with his murder, police are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has further information to come forward.
Officers believe there may have been individuals in the area at the time who saw the attack or noticed something suspicious but have not yet spoken to police. Today (Wednesday, 12 March), officers have returned to the scene to speak with residents and encourage any potential witnesses to share what they know.
Speaking from the scene, Detective Chief Inspector Jim Barry, who is leading the investigation, said:
“This violent attack ripped a father away from his two children. Since January, the incident has massively impacted those close to Gregory and the wider community.”
“This is why it’s imperative we work together to secure justice. Anyone with information must share it with us, no matter how small they deem it to be. We are committed to working alongside those who provide statements throughout the judicial process.”
Gregory’s grieving family, who continue to receive support from specialist officers, added:
“Gregory was a much-loved son, father and friend, and his family is heartbroken by this loss. Even the smallest detail could be crucial. Please come forward and help us get justice for Gregory.”
Two suspects — Benito Ramirez Kones, 19, of Fermain Court East, N1, and Gabriel Francisco Pineda Gonzalez, 20, of High Trees, SW2 — were charged with murder in January. Their trial is scheduled to begin at the Old Bailey on Monday, 20 October 2025.
Anyone with information is urged to contact police on 101, quoting reference 809/13JAN, or to provide information anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
