Detectives have reissued an image of a man they are keen to speak to in connection with a sexual assault incident that occurred on a bus in Walthamstow on Tuesday, September 26, 2023.
The assault allegedly took place around 8.15pm when the victim, a 12-year-old female, boarded the bus on Fulbourne Road, E17. According to reports, the suspect sat next to the victim and engaged in inappropriate behaviour, including asking sexual questions and stroking her leg.
Extensive inquiries have been conducted by officers, leading to the re-circulation of an image of a man they are eager to locate and interview regarding the alleged offence.
The man is described as wearing a black baseball cap worn backwards and what appears to be a leather jacket. He is reported to be a black man in his sixties, sporting a black and grey short beard.
Superintendent Charles Clare, from the local policing team in northeast London, issued an appeal to the public, urging anyone with information on the man’s identity to come forward promptly.
I am appealing to the public for information on who this man might be as we wish to speak to him about the incident that took place on the 212 bus,” Superintendent Clare stated. We believe the suspect is aged in his 60s and we are working to urgently identify him. Anyone who can help us find the man in the image should contact us immediately.
