Police are seeking crucial information following a severe collision that transpired in Barking, sparking an urgent appeal to the public.
The incident came to the attention of officers when the London Ambulance Service (LAS) contacted them at 9.22am on Monday, 22 January. The report indicated that a collision had occurred involving a car and a pedestrian on Movers Lane, near the intersection of Gordon Road.
Responding swiftly, police personnel arrived on the scene, accompanied by colleagues from LAS and London’s Air Ambulance.
The pedestrian involved, a man in his 60s, sustained critical injuries and was swiftly transported to a hospital for medical treatment. His next of kin have been duly informed of the situation.
Regrettably, the driver of the car chose to flee the scene following the collision. However, he has subsequently been apprehended in connection with the incident and currently remains in police custody.
