Police appeal after Woman attacked by Dog on Ryde Beach
Police on the Isle of Wight are appealing for witnesses after a woman was attacked and bitten by a dog in Ryde. The woman was walking her Chihuahua along Appley Walk, close to Appley Tower, and passed a dog that looked like a Boxer breed, which was tethered to a pole. As she walked passed the tethered dog, at around 3.30pm on on Monday February 15, it was able to break free and took hold of the Chihuahua in its mouth. The woman immediately went to retrieve her dog and suffered a bite to her lip. Her Chihuahua suffered no lasting injuries. The dog is described as being brindle in colour, was tethered to a blue/red lead and wearing a black collar. Police Constable Dave Hughes said: “Where you at Appley Tower at the time of the incident?
