Kent Police have launched a public appeal following a disturbing incident of inappropriate behaviour involving a group of teenage girls at a park in Sittingbourne.
The incident occurred around 4pm on Thursday, 17 April 2025, on a green space between Amethyst Drive and The Meads Avenue. A group of girls were sitting and listening to music when they were approached by an unsteady man who joined them uninvited.
According to police, the man danced with the group, attempted to engage in conversation, and is alleged to have touched one of the girls over her clothing before leaving the area on foot.
Detective Constable Lucas Melella, who is leading the investigation, said:
“While we continue to investigate this incident, we are appealing to anyone who may recognise the man in the image we have released. He may have vital information that could assist our enquiries.”
Officers were swiftly deployed to the area following the report, and initial investigations included CCTV reviews and witness statements.
Police have now released a CCTV image of a man they would like to speak to in connection with the incident.
