A fatal collision on the M25 near Upminster and the Dartford Crossing has claimed the life of one person, while another has been rushed to hospital. The crash, which involved a lorry and a car, occurred in the early hours of this morning (September 8), near junction J29 of the M25.
Emergency services, including an incident response officer, an advanced paramedic, and an ambulance crew, were dispatched to the scene after being alerted at 3:59 AM. Despite their efforts, one person was pronounced dead at the scene. Another individual was transported to the hospital, though their condition remains unknown at this time.
Two other people involved in the crash were treated at the scene and discharged.
The incident has led to the closure of all four lanes of the M25 clockwise, causing significant disruption to traffic as investigations are conducted by emergency services.
A spokesperson for the London Ambulance Service confirmed the details of the response, stating, “We were called at 3:59 AM this morning to reports of a road traffic collision on the M25 at J29 near Upminster. Sadly, one patient died at the scene. A second patient was taken to hospital, while two further patients were treated and discharged at the scene.”
National Highways also issued a statement via social media, confirming the collision involved a lorry and a car and advising motorists to seek alternative routes as the road closures remain in place.
Authorities have not yet provided additional details regarding the cause of the crash or the identities of those involved. The Metropolitan Police have been contacted for further comment.
