A person has tragically died after being struck by a train near Walthamstow, causing significant disruption at London Liverpool Street station today.
British Transport Police were called shortly before 7am on Thursday following reports of a casualty on the tracks. Paramedics attended the scene, but sadly, the individual was pronounced dead.
Emergency services temporarily halted services between London Liverpool Street and Cheshunt. Although lines reopened by around 9:59am, severe delays persisted, and disruption was expected to last until midday.
Greater Anglia and Stansted Express services faced cancellations and delays, significantly impacting morning commuters and travellers heading to Stansted Airport. Passengers were advised to seek alternative routes.
