A pedestrian in his 20s has been hospitalized with serious injuries following a collision with a lorry on the A5199 Welford Road near the River Sence, on the edge of the Harborough district. The incident occurred in the early hours of Friday, January 17, 2025.
Police and Emergency Response
Emergency services were called to the scene just before 6:30 am after receiving reports of the collision. The pedestrian was rushed to the hospital, where he is being treated for his injuries.
The driver of the lorry, a 53-year-old man, has been arrested on suspicion of:
- Causing serious injury by dangerous driving
- Driving a motor vehicle with a proportion of a specified controlled drug above the legal limit
The driver is currently in police custody as investigations continue.
