Pedestrian Killed in Hit-and-Run Collision on New North Road, Hainault
A 34-year-old man has tragically died following a hit-and-run incident on New North Road in Hainault late on Saturday night (11 November).
Police were called by the London Ambulance Service at approximately 10:50pm to reports of a serious collision involving a car and a pedestrian near Amwell View. Despite the best efforts of emergency services, the pedestrian was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
The vehicle involved in the collision failed to stop, and the driver has not yet been located. A crime scene has been established, and road closures remain in place around New North Road as police continue their investigation. Motorists are advised to avoid the area and seek alternative routes where possible.
The man’s next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.
At this stage, no arrests have been made. Detectives from the Metropolitan Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit are leading the investigation, with assistance from local officers.
