Police Investigate High-Value Goods Worth Hundreds of Thousands of Pounds
A major police raid in Croydon has led to the seizure of over 240 high-value items, including luxury watches worth thousands of pounds, as part of an ongoing investigation into stolen goods.
The haul was discovered at a suspect’s address in Inglewood, Croydon, after officers tracked a £20,000 Patek Philippe watch that had been stolen in a burglary in Derby. The watch was traced to the address three days later, leading to the execution of a search warrant on January 28, 2025, approved by South Derbyshire Magistrates’ Court.
Luxury Watches Among Seized Goods
During the search, police uncovered an extensive collection of suspected stolen items, including:
- Three Rolex watches, one valued at £15,000
- A Patek Philippe watch worth approximately £20,000
- Other high-value items believed to be genuine luxury pieces
The total value of the seized items could reach into the hundreds of thousands of pounds.
Suspect Arrested as Investigation Continues
The suspect was arrested on February 11, and officers are now working to identify the rightful owners of the recovered goods.
A police spokesperson confirmed:
“Our investigation is ongoing, and we are working to return the stolen items to their legitimate owners.”
Public Urged to Assist with Investigation
Authorities are encouraging anyone who believes they may have had items stolen to come forward and report the theft to Metropolitan Police. Victims can also check whether their belongings are among the recovered items.
This remains an ongoing case, with further updates expected as the police investigation progresses.
