One person rushed to hospital following House fire in Andover

One person was taken to hospital suffering from smoke inhalation after a fire broke out at a house in King George Road in Andover Firefighters from Andover, Dorset and Wiltshire, Sutton Scotney, Stockbridge and Winchester were called at 01:11am. The ground floor, first floor and the roof were all fully involved in the blaze with minor fire spread to an adjoining property. Crews worked with the relevant agencies to isolate the gas and electricity supplies to the house. The occupant suffering from smoke inhalation was taken to hospital by SCAS with the neighbouring property’s residents dealt with by the British Red Cross. The fire was stopped using three jets, two hose reels, the Aerial Ladder Platform and four sets of breathing apparatus before the stop message came in at 07:15am. A joint fire and police investigation has been launched to ascertain the cause.
