Renowned chef and culinary storyteller Nigella Lawson is set to spread festive cheer this Christmas as she returns to the BBC for a magical one off special, “Nigella’s Amsterdam Christmas Special,” airing on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.

Having frequented Amsterdam during the holiday season for decades, Nigella’s Amsterdam Christmas Special promises to unveil the enchanting allure of the city at Christmastime. The episode will capture the captivating beauty of lights shimmering over canals, the lively holiday atmosphere, and the overall magic of the ‘Venice of the North.’

In this special, Nigella will take viewers on a journey through Christmas Fairs, artisan food shops, and her favourite spots in Amsterdam, as she gathers ingredients for her festive feasting. The program aims to deliver moments of calm and reflection amidst the festive lights and joyful hubbub, bringing the spirit of Christmas to homes.

Inspired by both Dutch and Indonesian culinary cultures in Amsterdam, Nigella’s recipes will be simple yet celebratory, designed to make Christmas deliciously doable and joyous for everyone. The special, shot in both London and Amsterdam, promises to combine Nigella’s charismatic storytelling with accessible recipes, offering viewers a personal and unique journey through Amsterdam during the holiday season.
