A motorbike purchased just one hour prior was seized in Bentilee after its rider was found to have no licence, insurance, or valid tax, West Midlands Police have confirmed.
Officers patrolling the area on a BMW R1250RS intercepted the rider, leading to the bike being loaded onto a recovery truck and transported to a secure compound.
"If the rider had a licence, insurance, and taxed it, the bike would not be having a ride of its own… on a recovery truck to the compound from Bentilee!" police said in a statement posted online.
Further Seizures: Knives, Screwdriver, and Cash
The same operation also led to the seizure of:
- Three knives
- One screwdriver
- £1,000 in cash
Police have not yet confirmed if any arrests were made in connection with the weapons or cash, but investigations are ongoing.
Community Policing in Action
The incident forms part of a wider crackdown by West Midlands Police targeting illegal riding and knife crime, both of which remain key concerns in neighbourhood policing strategies.
Members of the public are urged to report illegal vehicles or suspicious behaviour via 101 or anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
