A woman in her 30s has been rushed to hospital after being stabbed early this morning in New Cross. The incident occurred at the junction of Lewisham Way and Parkfield Road around 8:55 am.
Emergency services, including Met Police officers and London Ambulance Service paramedics, responded swiftly to the scene. Paramedics arrived within four minutes of being called and treated the woman for her injuries before transporting her to a major trauma centre. Her condition is currently being assessed.
The area has been cordoned off by police to collect evidence, leading to diversions for the following London bus routes: 53, 177, 225, and 453.
A Met Police spokesperson said: “The woman was taken to a nearby hospital where her condition is currently being assessed. At this early stage, there have been no arrests. Officers are currently carrying out fast-time enquiries into the circumstances. Parkfield Road and Amersham Vale will remain closed. A London Ambulance Service (LAS) spokesperson added: “We were called at 8:56 am to reports of an incident at the junction of Lewisham Way and Parkfield Road. We sent resources to the scene, including an ambulance crew, paramedics in a response car, and an incident response officer. Our first paramedics arrived on the scene in four minutes. We treated a woman at the scene before taking her to a major trauma centre.”
