Public Warned: Eight of UK’s Most Wanted Men Suspected to be in London
The National Crime Agency (NCA) has issued a public warning as it believes that eight of the UK’s most wanted men could be hiding in London. These individuals are wanted for a range of serious crimes including murder, drug smuggling, and fraud.
Here are the names and stories of these fugitives:
1. Timur Mehmet: Mehmet, hailing from Winchmore Hill in Enfield, was part of a crime gang involved in a £37.5-million money laundering scheme. Despite being sentenced to eight years in his absence after failing to attend his trial in October 2007, he remains at large.
2. John Barton: Convicted in his absence for conspiring to import a commercial amount of heroin into the UK in 2003, Barton has evaded justice for nearly two decades. He is believed to have ties to both Fuengirola in Spain and London.
3. Jack Mayle: Mayle, born in Croydon, is wanted on suspicion of drug supply charges, specifically MDMA, methylphenidate, and diazepam. He allegedly ran a drugs line in south London and Surrey before fleeing upon being charged.
4. Ersin Mustafa: A former employee of JP Morgan Cazenove, Mustafa is suspected of insider dealing. He allegedly provided information about future acquisitions and mergers to others who then traded using this information, resulting in significant gains.
5. Daniel Dugic: Originally from Serbia, Dugic is suspected of involvement in a cocaine importation plot in 2011. Despite others being convicted in connection with the crime, Dugic has managed to evade capture.
6. Christakis Philippou: Philippou, also known as Christakis Chrysostomou, is alleged to have been involved in a travel fraud scheme between 2004 and 2006. His actions left thousands of customers without their promised holidays.
7. Ozgur Demir and Osman Aydeniz: Both individuals are wanted in connection with a conspiracy to supply nearly 18kg of diamorphine. Three individuals have already been convicted in connection with this offense.
The NCA has urged the public not to approach these individuals if spotted but to contact authorities immediately. Anyone with information on their whereabouts is encouraged to come forward and assist in bringing these fugitives to justice.
As London remains on alert, vigilance from the public is crucial in ensuring the safety and security of the community.
