Firefighters from across Southwest London were called to a major blaze at Valentina’s coffee shop on Upper Richmond Road in East Sheen late Sunday night.
Emergency services were alerted shortly after 11:20pm on Sunday 9th March 2025 following reports of thick smoke and flames shooting from the side of the popular local café.
Multiple fire engines from surrounding stations responded swiftly to the scene.
Fire crews wearing breathing apparatus worked quickly to bring the fire under control, preventing it from spreading to nearby properties. Witnesses reported seeing dramatic flames and heavy smoke pouring from the premises as firefighters tackled the blaze. With Smoke filling the street said one bystander.
A section of Upper Richmond Road remains cordoned off as crews continue to make the area safe and assess structural damage.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation. Officers from the London Fire Brigade have launched an investigation to determine how the blaze began.
No injuries have been reported at this time, but local businesses and residents were left shaken by the late-night incident.
