A motorcyclist is in a critical condition following a serious crash involving two motorcycles near the Blackwall Tunnel in the early hours of Tuesday, June 4.
Emergency services were called to the A102 Northbound just before 1:10am. Metropolitan Police and London Ambulance Service crews arrived to find one male rider with life-threatening injuries. He was rushed to hospital, where he remains in a critical condition.

Two Men Arrested at Scene
Police confirmed that two 24-year-old men were arrested at the scene on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle. One of the men was also arrested on suspicion of possession of cannabis. Both remain in custody for questioning.
Road Closures and Bus Disruptions
The A102 Northbound carriageway near the Blackwall Tunnel was closed to traffic, causing significant disruption. Buses are being diverted, and drivers are advised to avoid the area as investigations continue.
Police Appeal for Witnesses
A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police urged any witnesses or those with dashcam footage to come forward.
“We’re working to establish the full circumstances of the incident. Anyone who witnessed the collision or has relevant footage is encouraged to contact us immediately.”
