A 49-year-old motorcyclist has died following a collision with a car in Noak Hill Road yesterday afternoon.
The Metropolitan Police said they were called to the scene shortly after 2:30pm on Saturday (August 9) following reports of a crash between a motorbike and a car close to the Deers Rest pub.
The London Ambulance Service treated the rider at the scene before taking him to hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
The driver of the car stopped and is assisting police with their enquiries. No arrests have been made.
The man’s next of kin have been informed.
In a statement, the Deers Rest pub said:
“Some of our team responded to the accident and were involved in providing support. As such, the accident has had a profound effect on them.”
The pub closed on Saturday evening following the incident but has since reopened.
Police appeal for information
Detective Sergeant James Moody of the Met’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit urged witnesses to come forward:
“We urge anyone with any information to please get in touch, even the smallest bit of detail could be helpful to our investigation. We are keen to obtain any dash cam or CCTV in order to piece together what happened.”
