Jury Clears PC Harrison at Old Bailey

The jury at the Old Bailey acquitted PC Harrison following a lengthy investigation and trial. The case stemmed from the tragic crash during a police motorcycle escort.

Metropolitan Police Expresses Sympathy and Action

Our thoughts and sympathies remain with Mrs Hollands family. We are deeply sorry for their loss,” said Commander Adam Slonecki, Specialist Operations.

He added: While nothing can undo this tragedy, we have introduced safety measures such as bullhorns fitted to escort motorcycles, used along with whistles to warn the public of approaching vehicles.

The Met emphasised the lengthy wait for justicetwo and a half years for PC Harrison, and an extended grieving period for Mrs Hollands family.

We continue to push for quicker, fairer accountability processes to reduce the impact on everyone involved, Slonecki said. We will now swiftly review any possible misconduct matters concerning PC Harrison.

Independent Investigations and Charges

Following the incident, the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) launched criminal and misconduct investigations. The Crown Prosecution Service later authorised charges, leading to the trial and ultimate acquittal.
