Merseyside Police have declared their readiness to manage potential protests in the area, following a series of recent unrest and widespread online speculation about future demonstrations.
Assistant Chief Constable Jenny Sims addressed the concerns, stating, “We are aware of online speculation surrounding future protests in Merseyside, and I want our communities to be assured that we are fully prepared to deal with anyone intent on causing disorder.”
In recent weeks, Merseyside has experienced a surge in public unrest, with several demonstrations escalating into violent confrontations. This has prompted the police force to take proactive measures to ensure the safety and security of the local community.
ACC Sims emphasized the importance of maintaining public order and protecting residents from any potential threats. “Our priority is to keep our communities safe and secure. We have comprehensive plans in place and will not tolerate any behavior that disrupts the peace or endangers the wellbeing of our citizens.”
She also called for the public’s cooperation, urging residents to stay informed through official channels and to report any suspicious activities. “We encourage everyone to stay vigilant and to rely on verified information from trusted sources. If you see anything suspicious or have concerns, please contact us immediately.”
Merseyside Police have been working closely with community leaders and local organizations to address the root causes of the recent unrest and to foster a sense of unity and resilience among residents.
ACC Sims concluded, “We are committed to working with our communities to ensure that Merseyside remains a safe place for everyone. By standing together and supporting one another, we can overcome these challenges and build a stronger, more cohesive community.”
The police force has also reiterated that they will respect the right to peaceful protest but will act decisively against any attempts to incite violence or cause disruption
