Merseyside Police are conducting an investigation following a reported incident on a Stagecoach bus in Kirkby last Friday. Social media posts, claim that a man attempted to abduct a child and subsequently attacked the bus after being removed, that claim has since been refuted by police.
The police were alerted to the disturbance on Whitefield Drive shortly after 6pm. Upon arrival, officers detained three men who had been ejected from the bus. A common assault against a male victim has been recorded. They urge the public to refrain from speculation.
As of now, no additional reports of any crime have been filed by individuals at the scene or thereafter. The investigation is still active, and authorities are appealing to anyone with information to contact them directly via DM @MerPolCC or anonymously through Crimestoppers at 0800 555 111 with reference number 24000530929.
The police request the public’s patience and caution against making assumptions while the investigation is underway.
