An altercation in Old Swan took a violent turn, resulting in four individuals sustaining injuries from a bladed object, believed to be a pair of scissors, in a property on Haslingden Close. Merseyside police were summoned to the scene following reports of a disturbance around 1am on Wednesday, August 9.
Upon arrival, officers discovered a group of people within the property had suffered injuries caused by the use of a weapon. While three individuals sustained non-serious injuries, one person was hospitalized due to a chest injury. The authorities have not yet officially confirmed the specific type of weapon involved.
Detectives quickly launched an investigation, leading to the arrest of eight individuals suspected of section 18 grievous bodily harm with intent and affray. Among the arrested are six men, aged 30 to 57, and two women aged 35 and 54. The suspects are currently being questioned by officers as inquiries continue.
