A man has been arrested following a serious assault in Margate in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Kent Police confirmed officers were called shortly after 3am on Saturday, 9 August 2025 to reports of an incident in Northdown Road, near its junction with Ethelbert Road.
Patrols attended alongside South East Coast Ambulance Service, where they found a man in his 40s with an injury consistent with a stab wound. The victim was treated at the scene before being taken to a London hospital, where his condition is described as serious but stable.
A 20-year-old man from Thanet was arrested in connection with the incident and remains in police custody.
Detectives say an investigation is ongoing, including a review of CCTV footage, forensic examination of the scene, and witness interviews.
Appeal for information
Kent Police is urging anyone who witnessed the incident, or who may have relevant CCTV or dashcam footage, to come forward.
A spokesperson said:
