Police have released images of a man they wish to speak to following a distressing incident where a young girl was racially abused and assaulted at Gipsy Hill railway station in South London.
British Transport Police (BTP) officers responded to reports of an altercation shortly before 7.45pm on Thursday, February 6. It was reported that a man had aggressively barged into a group of young girls and made racist remarks. When one girl confronted him, she was punched three times in the face. Other members of the group were also assaulted when they attempted to intervene.
Detectives have shared two images of a man believed to hold vital information regarding the incident. The individual is shown wearing a dark jacket, blue shirt, blue jeans, a grey beanie, and carrying a Sainsbury’s shopping bag along with a laptop case.
A BTP spokesperson said: “Detectives investigating an assault on a group of girls at Gipsy Hill station are today releasing these images in connection.”
