A man has been taken to hospital following an incident in Whitechapel that prompted a large emergency response, including the attendance of London’s Air Ambulance.
Emergency services were called to Adelina Grove, just off Sidney Street, at around 1pm today (Monday, March 10).
While the exact nature of the incident has not yet been confirmed, paramedics treated a man at the scene before transporting him to a major trauma centre in London.
Images shared on social media show a significant police presence, with Adelina Grove cordoned off, as emergency teams responded to the unfolding situation.
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said:
“We were called today (Monday, March 10) at 1.04pm to reports of an incident in Adelina Grove, E1.
We sent multiple resources to the scene, including ambulance crews, an incident response officer and London’s Air Ambulance.
We treated a man at the scene before taking him to a major trauma centre.”
The Metropolitan Police were also seen at the scene, but have not yet released a statement regarding the circumstances of the incident or whether any investigation is underway.
Residents in the area reported seeing the air ambulance landing nearby and emergency crews rushing to the scene.
