Police are investigating a stabbing that occurred outside Tesco on Southend Road, South Hornchurch, during the early hours of Saturday morning.
Emergency services were alerted to the scene at just after 7amĀ following reports of a violent incident. Upon arrival, officers found a male victim who had sustained stab wounds. He was immediately taken to an East London hospital for treatment, and his condition has not yet been confirmed.
A police cordon remains in place as detectives work to establish the circumstances surrounding the attack. Officers have described the incident as isolated, and enquiries are ongoing.
The Metropolitan Police have urged anyone who witnessed the incident or has information to come forward. A spokesperson said:
“We are actively investigating the circumstances of this stabbing and are appealing for anyone who saw what happened or has any relevant information to contact us. This appears to be an isolated incident, and there is no wider threat to the public.”
