A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder following a fatal shooting in Birmingham that left one man dead and another critically injured late Friday night.
West Midlands Police were called to Rotton Park Road in Edgbaston shortly before 11pm after reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, officers discovered two victims at separate locations.
The Incident
- A man in his 20s was found in a car and pronounced dead at the scene.
- Another man, in his 30s, was discovered injured at a bus stop nearby. He was rushed to hospital, where he remains in a critical condition.
Arrest Made
Approximately 90 minutes after the incident, firearms officers arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of murder. He was detained just before 12.30am and is currently in police custody.
Police Investigation
The area around Rotton Park Road has been cordoned off as investigations continue. Forensic teams are at the scene, and officers are conducting house-to-house inquiries and reviewing CCTV footage to gather more evidence.
