Police respond to early morning gunfire in East London
A man has been hospitalised with gunshot wounds and a woman injured following a violent disturbance in Dagenham during the early hours of Monday morning.
Metropolitan Police were called at 03:32hrs on 23 June to reports of a large disturbance on Selinas Lane, Dagenham. Officers arrived to find a crowd dispersing from the area.
At the scene, a man in his 30s was discovered with gunshot injuries. He was treated at the scene by emergency services before being taken to hospital, where he remains in a stable condition.
Woman also injured
A woman, also in her 30s, was found nearby suffering from a head injury. She was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
A crime scene has since been established on Selinas Lane and surrounding areas. No arrests have been made at this stage, and the investigation remains ongoing.
Police appeal for witnesses
A spokesperson for the Met Police said:
“We’re working to establish the full circumstances of what happened in the early hours of this morning. We ask anyone who may have seen or heard anything suspicious to get in touch.”
