A 38-year-old man, Leslie Jackson, has been sentenced to eight years in prison in connection with a brutal abduction and severe assault on a woman in Aberdeen. The incident occurred on July 30, 2022, in the Kittybrewster area.
Jackson appeared before the High Court in Glasgow on June 5, 2024, after pleading guilty to charges of abduction, assault causing severe injury, permanent disfigurement, and endangering life. His actions left the victim with life-threatening injuries, prompting Detective Inspector Andrew Machray to describe the ordeal as “horrendous.”
The victim was held captive for 18 hours before managing to escape. Jackson’s sentencing aims to bring closure to the survivor, while emphasising that violence has no place in our communities. Police Scotland remains committed to ensuring that those responsible for such crimes face justice.
