Police have launched an investigation after a man was stabbed in broad daylight near Plumstead Road in Woolwich this afternoon.
Emergency services were called to Parry Place, SE18, at 13:34hrs on Thursday following reports of a stabbing.
Metropolitan Police officers and paramedics from the London Ambulance Service attended the scene and found a man with a stab wound. He was treated at the scene before being taken to hospital, where his condition is currently unknown.
A crime scene has been established and is expected to remain in place while forensic teams carry out their enquiries. No arrests have yet been made, and detectives are continuing to investigate the incident.
A police spokesperson said:
“We are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this incident or has any information to come forward. Enquiries are ongoing and our officers are working tirelessly to establish the full circumstances.”
The incident, which took place in a busy area of Woolwich near local shops and bus routes, has caused concern among residents and commuters.
