Emergency services were called to the railway line between Staplehurst and Marden at around 9.40pm tonight following reports that a man had been struck by a train.
The incident has led to major disruption on services running through the area, with trains halted and lines currently blocked in both directions as emergency crews attend the scene.
Southeastern Rail has confirmed that services between Ashford International and Tonbridge are being diverted or cancelled as a result. Passengers are being advised to check for updates before travelling and to allow for extended journey times.
British Transport Police and paramedics are currently at the scene. The condition of the individual involved has not yet been confirmed.
A spokesperson for Southeastern said:
“We are working closely with emergency services following reports of a person being struck by a train between Staplehurst and Marden. Services in the area are severely disrupted while the incident is dealt with.”
