A man has been convicted of a serious sexual assault that occurred earlier this year in Aberdeen, sending shockwaves through the community. Kyle Allan, a 31-year-old white man with short dark hair and a dark beard, clad in a grey top, entered a guilty plea at the High Court in Edinburgh on Friday, October 27. The incident transpired in the Cove area on Saturday, June 10, 2023, and Allan is awaiting sentencing at a later date.
Detective Inspector Mark Lambley expressed his grave concerns about the heinous nature of the crime, characterizing Allan as an extremely dangerous individual. He underscored the deeply troubling circumstances surrounding the attack, which unfolded within the victim’s own residence, and acknowledged the profound and lasting impact it has had on the woman involved.
DI Lambley commended the victim for her unwavering strength and resilience throughout the investigation. He extended his support to other victims of sexual crimes, urging them to come forward and report their experiences, regardless of when they occurred. The detective inspector assured the public that Police Scotland remains fully committed to addressing sexual crimes and ensuring that those responsible face the consequences of their actions. To this end, the police force has specially trained officers and collaborates with partner agencies to provide support and assistance to victims throughout the entire process.
