Patrick McCann, 34, faces jail after a high-speed chase ended in disaster for a 14-year-old girl.

Police Pursuit Ends in Collision

On February 1, officers spotted a suspected stolen car in Chippenham. What followed was a frantic chase all the way to Lacock.

McCann, from Walnut Avenue, Hillingdon, was behind the wheel. The vehicle smashed into a Volkswagen Transporter during the chase.

Teenager Seriously Injured

One occupant of the Transporter, a 14-year-old girl, suffered serious injuries and was rushed to Southmead Hospital.

Multiple Charges Filed

At Swindon Crown Court today (March 20), McCann pleaded guilty to:

  • Failing to stop for police
  • Causing serious injury by dangerous driving
  • Driving whilst unfit
  • Driving whilst disqualified
  • Escaping lawful custody

He remains in custody and will be sentenced on May 29.
