A pedestrian has sadly died following a serious road traffic collision on Abridge Road in Theydon Bois, Essex Police have confirmed.
What Happened
Emergency services were called to the scene just before 6.30pm on Monday, 21 July, after reports of a collision involving a car and a pedestrian.
- The pedestrian, a man in his 50s from Basildon, was tragically pronounced dead at the scene.
- The driver of the car sustained serious but not life-threatening injuries and is currently being treated in hospital.
Ongoing Investigation
The incident is being investigated by Essex Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU).
Detectives are now appealing for witnesses, dashcam footage, or any other information that could assist with the investigation.
“We need anyone who saw the collision, or who has relevant dashcam or CCTV footage, to get in touch urgently,” said a police spokesperson.
