A man has been found dead in a public park in Maidstone, police have confirmed. Officers from Kent Police were called to the scene in Mote Park at 5:20 am on Saturday, July 27, following a report of a body in the area.
Police were joined by crews from South East Coast Ambulance Service. A section of the park was soon cordoned off near Willington Street while the emergency services worked.
A spokesperson for Kent Police said: “Officers and paramedics attended the scene where a man in his 20s was confirmed to be deceased. The death is being treated as non-suspicious and a report has been completed for the coroner.”
An exact cause of death has not yet been confirmed. Police have also stated that the deceased’s next of kin has been informed.
Mote Park, known for its scenic beauty and recreational facilities, was partially closed off to the public during the emergency response. The incident has shocked the local community, with many expressing their condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.
